Online Computer Courses - Learning As You Go

What could be more perfect than online computer courses? Think of it. You're using your computer to access your online computer course. No, it's not silly or ironic; it's the perfect match.

Why is it cool? Because it's the perfect blending of technology. It's the epitome of hands-on learning. It's using technology to learn technology.

Now this is a true story. There was a time, and it wasn't all that long ago, when trainers came in to do workplace computer training. They never had enough computers for their classes, so they trained people to use computers using cardboard keyboards and monitors. Honest. And learning about computers by reading a book about them is almost as ridiculous as using cardboard keyboards and monitors.

Whether you are taking a free self-improvement class in web design, or working on a masters degree in computer engineering, online computer courses are the perfect way to learn anything to do with computers.

You can take computer classes for personal enjoyment to learn how to touch up your digital photos, or how to create your own greeting cards and scrapbook pages. You can take an online class to learn how to use the programs that came with your computer and how to maintain your files.

You can take computer classes online for your job, too. Computerized accounting. Web design. Using Outlook or Dreamweaver or Sketchup or Quickbooks. Whatever you do, if you use computers, the software is constantly being improved and updated. New products come out all the time, and sometimes they are better than what you were using before. Taking an online class to learn how to use computer software just makes sense.

Sometimes you need to learn a new program for work. Your company may have changed software or added a proprietary program of some kind. Or maybe your job duties have expanded and you have to learn the software for your new duties. It is much easier for you to learn the new computer program by taking an online class than to go to a seminar or something. Don't forget the cardboard keyboards. They still don't always teach you on an actual computer where you can use the program.

You can also get a computer science or engineering degree by taking online classes. Sure, you'll have to take English and Art, too, to get a degree, but at least you can use your computer to take them on. Many very good colleges and universities offer online degree programs in computer science and related disciplines. You can earn both undergraduate and graduate degrees this way.

It only makes sense to learn about computers on a computer. Online education is the perfect match for computer education.
